The Deerhill Inn is located in the Deerfield Valley, otherwise known as the Valley of Inns, near Mount Snow Vermont. This area is certainly one of my favorites, and an annual adult family trip has now become a well-looked-forward-to event. Our top nine reasons to love Deerhill Inn are:
1. The Innkeepers. Stan and Mike, along with their wonderfully welcoming and accommodating staff make the stay memorable. Many of the Deerhill staff have been there for years, making them well-trained and very knowledgeable about the area. They can direct you and assist you with your getaway plans.
2. Deerhill's beautiful, individually decorated rooms and suites. Many of these rooms have patios or balconies, whirlpool tubs, gas fireplaces, and fresh bakes goodies to welcome you. Hair dryers, ironing boards, and robes are also in the rooms for your convenience.
3. Deerhill's great public rooms. With fireplaces near which you can sit and read, converse with other guests or watch movies and sporting events, the common areas of Deerhill are welcoming and comfortable. Deerhill offers two large public rooms and a smaller library room for guest use. All have comfortable furniture; one has a grand piano, the other a TV with many games, puzzles, magazines and several couches. Theese spaces are perfect for meeting other guests or bringing all your friends and having your own space.
4. The beautifully landscaped gardens. You can tell that gardening is a passion at the Deerhill Inn. There are several gardens situated throughout the grounds that offer both privacy and beauty. The apple trees on the hill offer lovely blooms in springtime and great apple photo opportunities during the autumn months.
5. A stunning view of the mountains. You are in the heart of the southern Green Mountains. What more can we say?
6. A fabulous selection of activities. In warm weather, the crystal clear swimming pool offers gorgeous landscaping and a breathtaking view. Located near Deerhill Inn, you will find golfing, hiking, mountain biking, shopping and so much more. In the winter months, the close proximity to both Mount Snow Ski Area And Stratton Mountain makes Deerhill the perfect lodging option for ski buffs. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are both just down the road as well.
7. An impressive selection of New World wines. Deerhill has an impressive wine cellar and has consistently won the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for the last 12 years.
8. Breakfast! Deerhill offers a la carte breakfast with homemade muffins, fresh fruit, fresh squeezed OJ, and eggs, pancakes, omelets - all made with the freshest local ingredients.
9. Chef Michael's gourmet dinners. The menu changes daily with three or four selections of appetizers, home baked Artisanal breads, creative salads and greens, and three choices of entrees. Missing dessert is unthinkable, save room ifyou can. Desserts at the Deerhill are a memorable delight.
