Quechee Lakes is a planned environment of nearly 6,000 acres, elegant homes, and spacious condominiums, on the shores of the Ottauquechee River in Quechee, Vermont, and the Quechee Club is the association of landowners and homeowners of Quechee Lakes. Yes, Quechee Lakes is a private community but it is also a popular Vermont vacation destination. Carefree Vermont Vacations is a Quechee Vermont based business that handles many of the Quechee Lakes rental homes and condos and can arrange for you to rent a luxury home or condominium in Quechee. Long-term and short-term tenants, because they rent from a landowner, are allowed the privilege of using the amenities while staying at Quechee Lakes. Some amenities do require the renter to purchase a “pass” from Quechee Club Membership Services.

Quechee’s facilities are impressive and include two championship golf courses, a health club, indoor pool, squash, racquetball, basketball, and volleyball courts, there is a modern tennis center featuring eleven tennis (8 Har Tru) courts, professional staff offering an outstanding program of lessons and clinics, miles of cross-country ski trails, and a downhill ski hill that has a double chair lift, a rope tow, and a T-Bar. There are recreational facilities for children, Lake Pinneo with beach, bathhouse, watersports, and playground facilities, outdoor skating facilities, and supervised programs. Additionally, there are playing fields, extensive woodlands, deer yards, and some great freshwater fishing holes, all-encompassing approximately 1,500 acres of Vermont’s most beautiful and natural land.

In 2005 The Quechee Lakes’ Landowners Association launched a major renovation of the Quechee Club. The 7.5 million dollar renovation included an expanded cardio fitness and weight-lifting area, upgraded men’s and women’s locker rooms with new steam rooms, handicap accessibility throughout the club, a new elevator, a newly expanded deck, bar, and outdoor grill area. The Boston based design firm of Amsler Woodhouse Maclean, Architects, Inc. was responsible for the design.
