Businessman Henry Wells was born in Thetford, Vermont in 1805. Wells established a courier service between New York City and Buffalo, NY in 1843. Wells later partnered with William Fargo to form Wells, Fargo & Co. Today, Thetford residents enjoy their very own “Treasure Island”. The town operates a lakeside park, tennis, and swimming area.
