Holland, Vermont was the site of a three-day rock festival known as Mac’s Party held in September 1973. The festival drew a crowd estimated at more than 30,000 people to this small town with a population of 629 residents.

The Barton River runs through Holland from Holland Pond in the northeastern corner of the town. The town of Holland includes three unincorporated villages: Holland Center, Holland Pond, and Tice Hollow.
